4 thousand 70 meter tunnel on Narlıdere Metro Line is completed

Another important phase of the Fahrettin Altay-Narlıdere metro line, where Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues its works without any pandemic process, has been completed. In the ongoing and ongoing works, the second tunnel reached Dokuz Eylül University Hospital Station. In the first tunnel, this station was reached in January 2020.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues the construction of 2018 km line between Fahrettin – Altay – Narlıdere District Governorate, which it laid its foundation in June 7,2. The machine, which opened the second tunnel in the ongoing and dual works, reached the Dokuz Eylül University Hospital station after Balçova and Çağdaş stations. This station was reached in January 2020 in the first tunnel in which the works continued.

Hat Balçova consists of 7 stations: Çağdaş, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital, Faculty of Fine Arts, Narlıdere, Martyrdom and District Governorate.

4 thousand 70 meters of the tunnel was opened

With the tunnel boring machine, approximately 2 meters of progress was made from the Balçova Station on the first line, and Narlıdere Station was approached. On the second line, the 750-meter section from Çağdaş Station to Dokuz Eylül University Hospital Station was also completed, making a progress of 460 meters. Thus, a 320 thousand and 4 meter tunnel was completed.

Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer started the rail laying process by making the first welding on the side of Üçkuyular two weeks ago.

With the completion of the line, the number of stations in the light rail network will reach 24. Thus, a passenger who takes the metro from Bornova EVKA-3 can go directly to Narlıdere. The length of the rail system in İzmir will reach from 179 to 186,5 kilometers.
