KIRAÇ's turnkey and promotional meeting was held with a ceremony attended by Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu. At the ceremony organized by the Criminal Department of the General Directorate of Security, our President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir and Katmerciler Chairman İsmail Katmerci also took part.
Developed within the scope of the project initiated by our critical role in the realization of many projects in the field of defense, KIRAÇ was originally designed and produced by Katmerciler to help the General Directorate of Security Criminal Department perform its activities quickly and effectively.
It is produced in three different configurations: Kıraç, Unarmoured Crime Scene Inspection Vehicle, Armored Crime Scene Inspection Vehicle and Unarmoured Criminal Laboratory Inspection Vehicle, which was developed by teams of the General Directorate of Security to plan and effectively investigate the scene, and collect the evidence safely and quickly.
A total of 60 “Kıraç” will be produced, 20 of which will be armored and 40 will be unarmored. In addition, 385 panel type crime scene investigation vehicles and mission equipment to be used in criminal investigation activities will be produced by Katmerciler and delivered until mid-2021.
The first batch of 6 pieces "Kıraç", exhibited at the ceremony and given the key, were delivered in April.
There are various departments such as office, evidence preservation and laboratory within the crime scene investigation and mobile criminal inspection tool, which are equipped with superior features than the crime scene investigation tools produced before.
The vehicle, which will be used for crime scene and criminal laboratory investigation, includes many systems from the firing distance and direction detection system to evidence analysis devices, automatic fingerprint system (APFIS) to chemical analysis, evidence storage system to the internet and satellite system.
Kıraç can climb up to 4 percent slope with 4 × 4 and 2 × 30 cycle speeds. Thanks to its fully independent suspension system and 4x4 with automatic transmission, the vehicle offers excellent mobility in all weather and road conditions. Extra load capacity of Kıraç vehicle platform enables different levels of ballistic protection and versatile equipment.
