The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made examinations on the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train (YHT) Kırıkkale construction site and its route.
Minister Karaismailoğlu, who made statements to the members of the press, stated that they continued their works by taking necessary precautions at the construction sites during the fight against coronavirus, and said the following about railway investments.
“Our country is currently in breakthrough on the railway”
“One of the most important projects of our country currently underway is the Ankara-Sivas project. I hope we will be connected by high-speed train from Ankara to Sivas before this year ends. In other words, a citizen from Sivas will go by high-speed train to Istanbul. They will also have used Ankara and Eskişehir routes. Our country is now in a major leap forward on the railway. We hope that our ongoing projects and fast lines running will finish Konya-Karaman in the year. Our works between Karaman-Ereğli and our Ankara-İzmir studies continue. Again, Adana, Mersin, Gaziantep, hopefully, infrastructure works are continuing. We will complete the bodywork tender in July. By connecting Bursa-Bilecik Osmaneli district to Ankara-Istanbul line and planning in July, we hope to enter 2023 with a high speed train line of 5 kilometers. ”
"We will connect the Black Sea to Central Anatolia"
Karaismailoğlu stated that these are huge, valuable investments that will add value to the country. “These are long and costly works, but we will see the fruits of our struggle in the railway for 18 years, hopefully in 2023. Hopefully, we are planning to open the Ankara-Sivas line this year. We are here to oversee all work. Things are going well. We completely renewed and modernized our railway line between Samsun and Sivas in 1930. So this is a very important line in railway history. This month, we will put this service into service and connect the Black Sea to Central Anatolia and Samsun Port to Anatolia. ” he spoke.
Expressing that they approached normalization step by step after the Kovid-19 process and that they made great efforts to get through the normalization process in the best way, Karaismailoğlu explained that they took all measures on land, in the air and at sea.
