Sales of Cars Under the Apartment Are Coming to History

Uzun zamThe regulation for the relocation of sub-apartment car galleries, which has been on the agenda for a while, entered into force. Within the scope of the application in question, auto galleries cannot be opened under the housing licensed buildings. Opened ones will be moved to the places indicated by the regulation. While it is estimated that there are around two thousand galleries under the apartment buildings in Istanbul alone, sector representatives want a specific arrangement to be made in order to avoid grievances regarding the moving process.

With the regulation approved by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and published in the Official Gazette on 9 June, the opening of a gallery under the apartment was completely closed.

The regulation, which became definite with the "Regulation on the Amendment of the Regulation on Opening and Working Licenses of the Workplace", came to the agenda after the pavement and road occupation of vehicles that were sold with the risk of explosion and fire of LPG vehicles.

After the enactment, it will no longer be allowed to open a new auto gallery under the building. As of June 9, 2020, auto galleries can be opened primarily in collective workplaces. For those who currently serve, a date will be shared regarding their relocation.

Thousands of shops are expected to be wasted with the move.

THERE ARE TWO THOUSAND GALLERIES: IT WILL AFFECT 50 THOUSAND

Stating that the gallery will no longer be opened under the building and they support it, the new Istanbul Motor Vehicle Dealers Association (İMAS) President Hayrettin Ertemel underlined that an arrangement is necessary for the existing galleries. Expressing that there are an estimated two thousand galleries especially in Istanbul, Ertemel stated that an average of 20 thousand vehicles were sold through these galleries and that the decision will affect 50 thousand people directly with their families.

SEPARATE REGULATION SHOULD BE MADE

Ertemel stated that as of today, there may be 300 empty shops in their galleries in Istanbul, so an arrangement for moving is a must, “We have to manage this business in each province. In other words, arrangements should be made with. Because the conditions of each province are different. There are provinces with no sites in Anatolia, what will they do? Therefore, this problem should be evaluated on a provincial basis and a middle way should be found and time should be given. ” said.

Ertemel said that they have started building sites in Istanbul but it may take 3-5 years for these auto gallery sites to end, and said that these are not enough for the tradesmen outside; “Municipalities should show trades in the city. These tradesmen should not be victimized. For a period of time, a temporary certificate of authorization should be given during this period. If there are people who have not been replaced at the end of their term, their documents will be canceled. ”
