When the calendars showed 1939, the year that the Second World War would also begin, Alfa Romeo produced the 6C 2500 that fascinated everyone with its performance. The model, which had high hand workmanship, also contained the most suitable form for transition to modern production techniques. This zamFor the time being, Alfa Romeo's Portello factory was also managed by engineer Ugo Gobbato for the last 6 years. Gobbato, who completed his education in Germany, also managed the Lingotto facilities in Turin for a period. He was also one of the main creators of the "green spaces" project to build the first large bearing factory in the Soviet Union.

Seeing the Portello factory as a home, Gobbato has carried out many studies to increase its production efficiency. Experienced engineers examined non-standard applications from the moment they first started work at the facility, detected faulty machines and saw incorrect material flows. As a result of these analytical diagnoses, Gobbato published two manuals titled “Organization of Production Factors” in 1932, by implementing its own methods. In these methods, the synthesis of master craftsmanship, which is characteristic of Alfa Romeo, with modern production techniques came to the fore. Aiming for rational production instead of mass, Gobbato hired new generation young engineers, set new rules and started applying modern methods. First, it defined clear responsibilities and organizational hierarchy among the employees and ensured an associated income distribution.

A football star was born in the factory

During the restructuring of the Portello factory, many social activities also took place. A track and field track, soccer field and a small grandstand were built next to the factory. Developed on the legacy of the 2300 B and 6C 2300, the 6C 2500 was more performance and agile than its predecessors, while incorporating important technical innovations such as telescopic shock absorber rear torsion bar suspensions and hydraulic brakes instead of mechanical. The Super Sport version of the model reached 110 HP and reached a speed of 170 km per hour. Its 'thick winged' hull, in which the bumpers were integrated, won the car its first race in Tobruk-Tripoli in 1939. The distinguished customers of the period, who could not be indifferent to the sportive success and technical performance of the vehicle, also showed great demand for the vehicle. While the 5 and 7-seat Turismo versions of the model were produced, the bodies of the Sport and Super Sport versions with short wheelbase were made by external body experts. Despite high prices in the range of 62 to 96 thousand lira, 159 units of the vehicle were sold. This unit was from another brand and model and easily met the amount of turnover from automobile sales that could reach thousands.
