İsmail Demir stated that our shipyards are in a position to make a request if the demand authority makes a request. Indicating that there is no such demand at the moment, Demir stated that the process may start for the second LHD if the demand occurs. Demir also stated that the process regarding the latest situation in TCG ANADOLU continues in accordance with the calendar, and the hardware activities continue.
TCG ANATOLIA
Within the scope of the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) project initiated by SSB, the construction of the TCG ANADOLU ship started. Turkey's first heli-Landing Ship (Landing Helicopter Dock / LHD) L400 claret number, which will carry the TCG Anatolia ship was lowered into the sea on Saturday, May 4, 2019. The construction of the TCG Anatolian Ship, which can transfer a minimum battalion force to its designated location with its logistic support, without the need for home base support, continues at Sedef Shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul. TCG ANATOLIA is planned to be delivered to the Navy by the end of 2020.
TCG ANADOLU will carry four Mechanized Removal Vehicles, two Air Cushion Removal Vehicles, two Personnel Removal Vehicles, as well as aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.
