Statement Regarding YKS Exam from ÖSYM President Aygün

Less than a month is up to the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) to be held on 27-28 June. Halis Aygün, Head of Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), made statements regarding the exam.

Saying that Hürriyet writer Nuray Çakmakçı made 2 million 433 thousand 219 candidates applied for the exam this year, Aygün also explained the coronavirus measures to be taken. Saying that strips will be drawn in front of the buildings, nobody other than candidates and officers will be taken to the garden of the halls, and that anyone who wishes can bring their own mask and disinfectant with them, Aygun stated that those who are caught the virus will take the exam in the reserve buildings.

Stating that the candidate's appointment has been completed, Aygün also spoke about the withdrawal of the exam date and withdrawal. Aygın asked him about the subject, "Have you received any comments on history?" not answering the question, he made the following statement:

“Necessary explanations were made about history. Higher Education Institutions Exam (2020-YKS) will be held on June 27-28. Now we all have to strive to increase the motivation of our students. We take all necessary measures in line with the opinions and suggestions of the Scientific Board and the Ministry of Health. ”

Saying that the exam questions have started to be prepared, Aygün said: “130 people, consisting of academicians, experts and technical personnel, entered the closed period on 20 May. They will be released at the end of the exam. ”

Aygün responded to another curious question, “Do questions become easier with face-to-face education interruption?

“YKS content is determined according to the curriculum and achievements of high school seniors. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students will not be asked to face the second semester face-to-face education. Our candidates will be responsible for less topics. It is also a ranking test. ”
