InnoTrans Railway Fair Postponed

Innotrans railway technology fair, which is planned to be held in Berlin in September, will be postponed. The Berlin Senate had banned incidents with more than 24 participants on Tuesday, 5.000 October, to prevent the spread of the new corona virus. Due to the corona virus restrictions, the organizers held several meetings about the fair to be held in Messe Berlin in Berlin in September. Alternative solutions were discussed at these meetings. However, the fair will announce on Tuesday how the performance show will be held and whether it will be released on the Internet.

About InnoTrans

InnoTrans is held every two years in Berlin and is the most important international fair in the field of railway. In the last fair, 149 professional visitors from 153.421 countries had the opportunity to get information about the innovative products of 61 companies from 3.062 countries that displayed their products in the global railway industry. InnoTrans's five exhibition segments include Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction. The organizer of InnoTrans is Messe Berlin.

Climate-friendly transportation solutions will be one of the main themes of the upcoming InnoTrans. Those traveling by bus or train cause two-thirds less CO2 than those traveling in their own vehicle. If only one percent of German drivers gave up their cars and took advantage of public transport, Germany would be exposed to one million tonnes less carbon dioxide per year. InnoTrans, the leading trade fair for railway technology, tackles this important issue and its opening event „The Future of Mobility in times of climate change (“ Climate Change ZamThe Future of Mobility ”) offers a space for exhibitors, expert visitors, associations and political circles to exchange ideas for the future. This exchange of ideas for the future benefits especially from the numerous new international exhibitors presenting their innovations at InnoTrans 2020.

For the first time, Evobus, Daimler AG's largest subsidiary in Europe and the Chinese market leader in electromobility BYD, will present its electric buses to the international audience at InnoTrans. Other exhibitors on the Bus Screen that will showcase their e-buses include VDL Bus & Coach, Ebusco, E-Bus Cluster, Ferrovie dello Stato, K-Bus and Ziehl-Abegg.

InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz said: “With international and innovative participants, InnoTrans acts as a platform for the future and offers a space to tackle mobility challenges together. In particular, large international demand and the registration of many new international exhibitors show the added value that InnoTrans offers for the exchange of information in the mobility sector ”.

A new feature in InnoTrans 2020 is Mobility +, where InnoTrans focuses on providing complementary mobility services. Within the scope of “Segmentes Public Transport” (Mobility +), Mobility + is a new subject where everything “Shared Mobility, Combined Mobility” also revolves around digital mobility platforms. Interest in the new subject area is gradually increasing. Well-known participants such as ViaVan, Cantamen, MotionTag and ZEITMEILEN will attend the fair.
