Coronavirus Blow to F-35 Lightning II Production

The Corona (COVID-19) Virus Pandemic, which has an effect all over the world, has also deeply affected the production of F-35 Lightning II, one of the world's largest defense projects.

Lockheed Martin, the number one weapon supplier of the US Department of Defense and the main contractor of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 Lightning II project, shared its quarterly activity report covering January-February-March 2020.

The report stated that the COVID-19 Pandemic, which influenced the whole world, also deeply affected the aviation unit, the largest unit of Lockheed Martin, where F-35 fighter planes were produced. According to the report, the works carried out on the F-19 production line due to COVID-35 and deliveries of the suppliers have slowed down considerably.

On the other hand, due to the decline in Lockheed Martin's shares and COVID-19, the contract cancellation decisions of some customers continue.
