Bosphorus Express Started Again; Minister Turhan, “TCDD Tasimacilik AS General Directorate is expanding its service range and quality day by day”.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan restarted the Bosphorus Express on 08 December 2019, which will meet the transportation needs of intermediate stations between Ankara and Arifiye (Sakarya), where high speed trains do not stop.

The Bosphorus Express departed from Ankara at 08.15 to realize its first flight. After the journey, which took about 6 hours, the train reached Arifiye at 14.30.

Turhan said that as a ministry, citizens carefully monitor all their travel needs and start new services not only on YHTs but also on conventional lines.

Stating that TCDD Tasimacilik AS General Directorate, which is affiliated to the Ministry, is expanding its service range and quality day by day, Turhan reminded that the Lake Express was put into service in October and the application of the "Orange Table Service Point", which will be the leg of the handicapped people before World Disabled Day.

Turhan said: “With the Bosphorus Express to be operated during the day, the travel time will be approximately 6 hours. The train, which will depart from Ankara at 08.15, will arrive at Arifiye at 14.27. The train that will depart from Arifiye at 15.30 will reach Ankara at 21.34. The Bosphorus Express, with a capacity of 240 passengers, will consist of 4 pulman wagons. The express, which will load and drop passengers at 16 stations, large and small, where YHTs do not stop, and the passenger, will be increased if the demand is high. ”

Minister Turhan, "The longest distance fare of the Bosphorus Express, which will offer a comfortable and pleasant journey, has been determined as 55 liras." said.
