Borusan Otomotiv's distributor in Turkey where BMW Motorrad unveils 2-cylinder Boxer Big boxer engine, developed by reinterpreting the genes that make up the brand. The new Big Boxer with an overhead valve design, driven together with a separate engine and transmission housing, is the same zamIt is currently the basis of two different BMW Motorrad prototypes, the Concept R 18 and Concept R 18/2.

In a motorcycle series, the double-cylinder Big Boxer with the highest capacity ever used offers 1.802 cc engine volume, 107,1 mm diameter and 100 mm stroke values. The engine, which produces 4.750 horsepower at 91 rpm, provides a maximum torque of 3.000 Nm from 158 rpm, while it can offer over 2.000 Nm of torque between 4.000 and 150 rpm. The maximum speed of the engine with a vertically separated aluminum motor housing is 5.750 rpm. The new Big Boxer with air / oil cooled grooved rollers and cylinder heads has a total weight of 110,8 kilograms, including gearbox and air intake system.

Parallel to the role model of the past, two camshafts were placed left and right on the crankshaft in the Big Boxer. Thanks to this precise structure, a generally harder valve drive can be achieved with improved control accuracy and higher speed stability.

Permanent Synchromesh 6 Speed Transmission and Jumping Self-Supporting Single Plate Dry Clutch

As with most BMW Motorrad boxer engines, the single-plate dry clutch transfers the torque produced by the engine to the gearbox. The engine, designed for the first time as a self-supporting clutch against the bounce, eliminates the unwanted pressing effect of the rear wheel due to the engine's drag torque when the gear is shifted down sharply.

The 6-speed transmission with permanent synchromesh is designed as a 4-shaft gearbox with helical gear pairs in a double-compartment aluminum housing. The optional Reverse Gear can be changed manually by driving with an intermediate gear and an electric motor.
