The technology company and premium tire manufacturer Continental opened a new tire factory near the city of Clinton in the US state of Mississippi, a major milestone. The construction process, which started in 2016, ended with this ceremony. Approximately 300 guests and 250 Continental employees, including government officials and local authorities, community members, customers and suppliers, attended the event.
The new facility is located on a land of 1.000 acres in Clinton, near Jackson, the capital of the US state of Mississippi. Continental, which has invested around 1,4 billion dollars, plans to employ 2 thousand 500 people at the plant when it reaches full capacity over the next decade. The plant, which will produce truck and bus tires for the US market, will begin production in early 2020.
