Porsche added the third version of the Taycan 4S to its product range after the Turbo and Turbo S versions of the all-electric sports car Taycan, which premiered on three continents simultaneously last month.
The Porsche Taycan 4S model, which is offered with two different battery sizes, offers 530 hp with the “Performance Battery” battery and 571 hp with the “Performance Battery Plus” battery, while the engine power and range values vary: Producing up to 390 kW (530 PS) of extra engine power with the “Performance Battery” battery, the Taycan 4S provides up to 420 kW (571 PS) of engine power when used with the “Performance Battery Plus” battery. With both battery types, it accelerates from a standard position to 100 km/h in 4,0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The “Performance Battery” battery provides a range of up to 407 kilometers and up to 463 kilometers with the “Performance Battery Plus” battery. This provides the highest range value among current Taycan models.
Innovative cars and dynamic performance
The new 4S model also has strong characteristics such as breathtaking acceleration, traction and exceptional engine power that are unique to sports cars. The active length of the permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle is 130 millimeters and is 80 millimeters shorter than the corresponding engine component in the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S models. The pulse-controlled inverter used on the front axle of Taycan 4S operates up to 300 amps, and the rear axle inverter up to 600 amps.
Exterior design that reflects Porsche DNA
With its clean and pure design, the Taycan signals the start of a new era while at the same time carrying traces of Porsche’s easily distinguishable design DNA. When viewed from the front, it appears quite wide and flat, with very pronounced wings. At the rear, the sporty roofline with a downward slope shapes the silhouette of the Taycan. Sharply contoured sides are also among the characteristic features of the car. The stylish interior design, the slanted rear C-pillar and the pronounced wing shoulders create a sharp rear section, one of the brand’s usual characteristics. Innovative elements such as the glass-effect Porsche logo integrated into the LED taillight at the rear also draw attention.
The different features of Taycan's Turbo and Turbo S models include aerodynamically optimized 19-inch Taycan S Aero wheels and red painted brake calipers. The front lower panel with new geometry, side sills and the black rear diffuser make the car more discernible. LED headlights are included as standard, including the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus - Porsche Dynamic Headlight System).
Unique interior design with a large display screen band
Taycan's front console was inspired by the 1963 original 911 front console. Indicating the beginning of a new era with its open and completely renovated structure, Taycan's cockpit is clearly designed in a driver-oriented, simple, minimalist and ultra modern way. The control keys are both easy to use and are not distracting. The 10,9-inch central infotainment display and optional passenger display, together with an integrated glass tape with a black panel look, create a visual harmony with the interior.
In addition to the partial leather interior, the eight-way electrically adjustable front seats are standard on the Taycan 4S.
An innovation that comes with Taycan is a completely leather-free interior design with state-of-the-art surface texture. High quality micro fiber “Race-Tex” material consisting of partially recycled polyester fibers is used in this design. The production of this design produces 80 percent less carbon dioxide than conventional materials. Fiber "Econyl®" made from recycled fishing nets, among other materials, is used for floor covering.
Porsche chassis systems
The Porsche Taycan uses a central networked control system for its chassis. The integrated Porsche 4D-Chassis Control system analyses and synchronises all chassis systems in real time. The Taycan 4S model comes standard with adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology including the electronic damper control system PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management).
Taycan 4S 'front axle has fixed caliper brakes with six pistons and cast iron brake discs with internal ventilation. The brake disc diameter is 360 millimeters on the front axle and 358 millimeters on the rear axle. Four-piston brakes are used on the rear axle and brake calipers are available in red paint.
Taycan 4S model, is expected to arrive in Turkey on June 2020 Porsche Centers.
